Seasonal Maintenance
Year-round garden care visits that keep your outdoor space looking its best in every season.
About this service
Gardens need different things in different seasons — spring preparation, summer deadheading and weeding, autumn clearance and mulching, winter structural pruning. Our seasonal maintenance contracts provide a planned programme of visits timed to what the garden actually needs, carried out by the same team each time so we know your garden well.
Spring Preparation
Bed edging, first mow at high cut, removing winter debris, feeding shrubs and borders, splitting and replanting overcrowded perennials.
Summer Maintenance
Regular mowing, deadheading of roses and perennials, weeding borders, clipping box and formal hedges, feeding containers and hanging baskets.
Autumn Clearance
Leaf clearing, cutting back perennials (leaving structural seedheads for winter interest), planting spring bulbs, lawn scarification and aeration.
Winter Pruning
Dormant season pruning of fruit trees, roses, Wisteria, deciduous shrubs and trees — the right time for hard structural work without stressing plants.
Border Weeding
Hand-weeding on each visit with annual applications of weed suppressant membrane or bark mulch to reduce the ongoing burden.
Plant Health Monitoring
We flag any disease, pest or structural issues we notice during visits — catching problems early before they become expensive to resolve.
Our process
A clear, professional approach on every project — so you know what to expect at every stage.
Initial Assessment
We walk the garden with you, note all the plants and areas that need regular attention, and agree the scope and frequency of visits.
Programme Design
A written maintenance programme is produced showing what will be done on each visit throughout the year — no surprises and a clear record of work.
Regular Visits
The same team visits on the agreed schedule — typically fortnightly in summer, monthly in spring and autumn, quarterly in winter for most Hampshire gardens.
Seasonal Reports
At each season change we send a brief summary of work done and any recommendations for the coming months — plants to replace, treatments to consider.
Common questions
Practical answers to the questions we hear most often about seasonal maintenance.
What is included in a maintenance contract?
Contracts are bespoke — we agree exactly what is included. Typically: mowing, edging, weeding, deadheading, hedge trimming, leaf clearance and seasonal tasks. Planting replacements and specialist treatments are usually charged separately.
How often will you visit?
Most domestic gardens need fortnightly visits May–September, monthly in March–April and October–November, and one or two visits in winter. We adjust to your garden's actual needs.
Do I need to be at home during visits?
Not usually — most clients give access via a gate code or key safe. We will always make contact if we encounter anything unexpected and leave a visit card noting work completed.
