Land Clearance
Overgrown, neglected or waste-covered land cleared efficiently and disposed of responsibly.
About this service
Neglected land — whether it is a jungle of brambles, a garden full of builder's rubble or an overgrown plot waiting for development — needs proper clearance before any landscaping can begin. We handle everything from light garden tidy-ups to large-scale commercial site clearance, with all green waste and soil taken away on licensed vehicles to registered waste facilities.
Bramble & Scrub Clearance
Dense bramble, Japanese knotweed, buddleia and other invasive scrub removed by hand and machinery, including root extraction to prevent regrowth.
Tree Stump Removal
Stumps are ground down to 200–300 mm below surface level using a stump grinder, removing the obstruction without excavating the entire root plate.
Rubble & Waste Removal
Concrete, bricks, soil and mixed waste separated and removed in skips or tipper trucks. All waste taken to licensed transfer stations with duty of care documentation.
Garden Shed & Structure Demolition
Old sheds, greenhouses, garages and outbuildings carefully dismantled and removed. Asbestos-containing materials identified and referred to specialist contractors.
Machinery Access
We operate a compact excavator (1.5–3 t) and dumper that can fit through a standard garden gate, making difficult-access sites much more manageable.
Licensed Waste Carrier
We hold a current Environment Agency waste carrier licence. You receive a waste transfer note for all material removed — protecting you from fly-tipping liability.
Our process
A clear, professional approach on every project — so you know what to expect at every stage.
Site Assessment
We visit to assess the volume of material, any hazardous items (asbestos, chemicals), access constraints and the most efficient method of clearance.
Hazard Identification
Any suspected asbestos or hazardous materials are flagged before work begins and referred to specialist contractors if required — we do not disturb these ourselves.
Clearance Works
Material is cleared methodically — vegetation first, then structures, then debris and soil. Green waste is chipped where possible to reduce volume and disposal cost.
Ground Level & Finish
Once cleared the ground is levelled or graded as agreed, ready for the next stage of landscaping, development or seeding.
Common questions
Practical answers to the questions we hear most often about land clearance.
Do you remove Japanese knotweed?
We can excavate and remove Japanese knotweed but this invasive species requires specialist disposal — it cannot go in general green waste. We work with licensed knotweed contractors for treatment and disposal where needed.
How do you price land clearance?
Clearance is priced on the volume of material and difficulty of access. We always quote after a site visit — conditions on the ground make an accurate remote quote impossible.
Can you clear a garden if there is no vehicle access?
Yes — our compact machinery can fit through a single gate (minimum 800 mm) and material can be moved by wheelbarrow through pedestrian access if needed. Limited access will affect the price.
