Land clearance is one of our most frequently requested services across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. Whether it is a domestic garden that has become overgrown, a paddock being converted to garden use, or a development site requiring preparation, the approach and timescales vary significantly depending on the scale and complexity of the work.
Domestic Garden Clearance
A typical overgrown domestic garden in Hampshire takes one to three days to clear, depending on its size and the density of vegetation. This includes cutting back, removing all green waste from site and any stump grinding required.
- Small garden (under 50m²): typically half to one day
- Medium garden (50–150m²): typically one to two days
- Large or heavily overgrown garden: two to four days
- Includes all green waste removal from site
- Stump grinding adds time depending on number and size
Larger Land Clearance
Clearing a paddock, field corner or larger plot for development or garden use requires heavier machinery — typically a tracked excavator or large tractor with flail mower. Timescales are measured in days rather than hours, and planning for waste disposal is essential.
After Clearance
Once cleared, the ground should be assessed before deciding the next step. Treat any regrowth of perennial weeds before committing to permanent landscaping. Allow at least four to six weeks to monitor for regrowth before planting or turfing.
A&T Landscapes carries out land clearance projects of all sizes across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. Call 07735 916029 for a free assessment and quote.
